Guitar Augmented Chord Images

Guitar augmented chord images. Augmented chords are unique like the diminished chords having several names. One name for each note in the chord and they repeat themselve every four frets or major third interval.

These chords are easy to recognize. a lot of time they follow a regular major chord and get used in drop progressions a lot.

The + sign is usually used for a chord symbol like C+ or G+.

Music Tension

They usually give tension that will lead you into another chord. Tension is where you hear a chord but it sounds like it wants to change because the progression wants to get to the home chord.

Chord Construction

The augmented is made up entirely of major third intervals.

The augmented chord has a raised 5th in it. It's only one note different than a major triad.
